The tu head is the top spool on a surface wellhead assembly. It is installed after the last hanger or production casing/tu annulus seal.

A subsea wellhead assembly has a tu annulus path that extends partly through the tu hanger and partly through the wellhead housing. A tu hanger tu annulus passage extends through part of the tu hanger from a lower port on the lower end of the tu hanger to an upper port on the exterior surface of the tu hanger below the tu hanger seal.
